Laff's TV show review show! Double stuffed edition

No, there is not a show called Double Stuffed.  And if there is, I'm not talking about it tonight!  Tonight, we will be talking about NBC's "The Cape" and the new Syfy show, "Being Human".

First up is the show that breaks  "The Incredibles" rule number one... no capes!  "The Cape" follows the life of Vince Faraday, a good cop (ewll, the ONLY good cop, really) with a loving family.  At least, until he is framed as the criminal mastermind, Chess.  One chase scene and explosion later, and the entire world, family included, thinks he's dead.  Now, in order to fight justice and protect his family, Faraday must train with "The carnival of criminals", in order to become his son's favorite superhero, "The Cape".  Personally, I'm loving this show.  Given, it has some far-fetched moments and a bit of a comic book style storytelling, but hey, it's a SUPERHERO show, so what else can you really expect? It can be a bit rocky at times, but all in all, I think it's just great.  And for that, I am gonna have to give this one a 4 out of 5.

Next on the list is, in a way, a how to guide to live a normal life... well, if you're a werewolf, vampire, or ghost (yeah, I put werewolf first, wanna fight about it?).  Josh and Aidan are just 2... I think male nurses, (they really didn't elaborate that very much) breaking the barrier between werewolves and vampires... No, not in a gay way, they're best friends!  Trying to find a place to live, they find the perfect house for them to be themselves... well, themselves without killing people.  Little do they know that the house is already inhabited... by a g-g-g-g-ghost!  Well, Sally is still working on how to be an effective spirit, as all she can currently do is vanish and knock something over on occasions.  3 monsters living under the same roof? I SMELL A SITCOM!... sorry, I had to... contractually obligated, if I had a contract, that is...  anyway, I love anything paranormal, and I'm excited to see what else will be going on, so I'll give this  4.5 howls out of 5.

so there you have it, folks!  a show about an ex cop in tights and a show about modern day munsters!  As always, I'd love to hear what you have to say, so feel free to comment below!

Oh, and for something completely random, friends and I over at the nerd machine are fighting for a season 5 of Chuck!  So if you're a fan (or if you love me thiiiiiiis much), be sure to visit www.wegiveachuck.com to find out how to get this brilliant show a season 5!

Love you!

  2. I hear that too, but hey, it was just the pilot that has been released, so it still has potential!

  3. I saw a portion of the pilot for the British one. The fight scene is the hospital room? Shot for Shot. Personally I think the American version had better effects.
